Here is  a  painting I did a few years back.  I was inspired by a dream that my friend had and therefore felt the need to make the image come to life on a canvas.

I believe this is where I really acknowledged myself as a painter.  I've painted for a long time ; however, this painting allowed me to break through barriers of what is and isn't suppose to be a work of art.

I still struggle with what is and isn't suppose to be and when I have those criticizing thoughts I remind myself  "Really? It doesn't matter. Just do it."  It is a hard lesson to learn ;but,  that is what art is about.

At one point, during this project I remember streaming blue lines and then black and really seeing the colors of the ocean at night.

The cat , the ocean, and the moon all resemble our psychic abilities and getting in touch with our emotions.

The art of protection

This is a piece I did just recently. It is a protection talisman that I made out of fimo. It is used to protect yourself from bad energy.

I combined runes, paint, and some other whammies for a friend's grand daughter.  This is my first attempt at jewelry.

Eventually, I may come out with my own line of talismans that will be available for many uses other than protection.

Beautious

Here is another piece that I included monsters in. It is titled, "Beauty is a curious thing."

In this piece, I started off by drawing a circle. I looked at the circle and thought about all the possibilities the circle had.  Well..... one image to the next and I created this scene where this rose was trapped in this bubble. The only way to get it out is to claim it.  These beings are curious and are using different senses to investigate.

Visually Divine

Before I begin the explanation of my work, I would like to inform you all that my spiritual background is paganism and my creations were heavily influenced by this.
I knew that I wanted to make two portraits symbolizing deity but I wanted them to be abstract without any facial features that were visibly obvious.

                                           Guardian of Life

When I began this painting, my focus was on displaying an image of God who is protective, down to Earth, and masculine. Because of this, I felt it was important to make His facial image black. I feel that my decision spoke of all three qualities that I was going for. I put a sun behind Him because the star means strength, heat, and power to me, which is what I was also going for.  The red background defines his brute side and the blue splatter symbolizes the connection from Him to humanity.

                                            Mother of All

"The Guardian of Life" was what lead me into my next piece called "Mother of All." I really liked the background in my first deity image and so I decided to make it a theme. Before I chose a background color I had to think about where I was going with Her. I chose the triple moon image, which is a popular representation to describe the Goddess in Her three aspects (Maiden, Mother, and Crone) joined in a unified wholeness.Taking the symbol into consideration, I then knew that I wanted a black void to speak of Her vastness. This inspired me to put the Earth behind her. The Earth being covered by the triple moon image symbolizes my home, which is where I feel completely surrounded by Her. My goal was to show a realistic and true perception of my relationship with the Goddess. The Mother of All is the Goddess of the World.

When I finally decided that both of the paintings were complete, I put them away and took a fresh look at them the next morning. I was completely satisfied with my work. I really feel I achieved my goal of displaying what deity means to me. These two pieces are my very first paintings that I have decided to sell to the public. They are both available at Starcrafts in La Mesa, California; for purchase.  Each painting is made from acrylic on a 9x12 canvas and sprayed with finish to preserve their appearances. Both are signed by me.

I go to sooprize friend. I hope I dressed preetee

This is a guy I created a while back.  He was given to my friend michelejacksonstudio.blogspot.com/  as a birthday gift. The mediums I used were Sculpy II and acrylic paint.

Lately, I have been into monsters. Drawing them is fun because, unless you have a specific idea in mind, you don't have to worry about making everything perfect.

In the beginning, I had a totally different picture in my head of what he would turn out like; but then I let my hands take center stage and this was the outcome.  OK, OK, I won't lie. I spoke a few incantations to my buddy Satan to finish him off and I couldn't be happier. Don't judge! Everyone calls on Satan to get some help nowadays.

My inspiration came from other modern artists in magazines like "Juxtapose" and "Hifructose". They mostly inspire me because they don't appear to allow fear control what they do best.

Although Sculpy is a pain in the ass to work with, I had a lot of fun making my little guy. Shaping out the eyes, nose, lips and teeth, I started seeing my piece come to life. I began to notice the humor and awesomeness in his face. It was better than I had originally imagined.

When I presented the figure to my friend, she was amazed. When I create art, my goal is to make the receiver feel like the luckiest kid in the world.

Well....mission accomplished.

Best. Day. Ever.
